Legislative Brunch
This is to notify you of the 2009 New Jersey State Council's Legislative Brunch. The event will be held on 1 November 2009 in the officer's club (Gills Hall, building 2000), on the grounds of Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
We will be honoring three individuals from different sectors of New Jersey that have been at the forefront of veteran issues from the local, state, and national scene. Each of our honorees is a respected leader in his field and brings honor to all New Jersey veterans for all that they do.
Our 2009 honorees are:
New Jersey Legislator Honoree: Senator Jeff Van Drew was instrumental in seeing the "cremains" bill through by co-sponsoring it and seeing it get passed into law so New Jersey cremated veterans will have a final resting place after years of sitting on a shelf or in a closet somewhere. He has also been a driving force in many other veteran issues that concern veteran's issues in New Jersey.
Our 2009 Private Sector Honoree: Steve Kakafer, owner of Flemington Car & Truck Country and the Somerset Patriots baseball team has championed veteran's issues for many years.
The veteran Honoree, Artie Muller, is known throughout the United States. He is the founder of, and now CEO, of "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle club. A national organization who's driving force is to keep the POW/MIA issue in front of the public.
Advanced tickets can be purchased at $35.00 each by sending a check to Dennis Beauregard, 831 Andover Street, Red Bank, NJ 07701, or calling him at 732-741-2526, or e-mailing him at vva12p@version.net. Don't forget to ask about placing an ad in the program booklet. A full page ad goes for only $50.00, while a half page ad is $30.00, and a quarter page is $20.00
I look forward to meeting you all on this special day when we pay tribute to three great Americans and their wonderful deeds and accomplishments on behalf of New Jersey veterans.
Sincerely,
Herb Worthington
